This weekend we went to Logon Mills, PA to the home of Cousins Nettie, Claudia and Glenn on their beautiful farm in Sugar Valley. We went to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Tante Trautel and Onkel Leo. Below Are some pictures that tell of our wonderful Weekend!

Happy Halloween!

Well, weeks are passing by quickly. The most exciting event since the last post was the birth of Helena and Mark's beautiful baby boy, Holden Elliot. I can't wait for Emmet to meet his new cousins.

Emmet seemed to enjoy his first Halloween- watching all the kids come to the door. Here is a photo of him wearing part of his Peter Rabbit outfit.

And one of Grandma from several weeks ago, as promised in the last post!

Here is another of him in his cold weather hat!

Meeting more very important people

So, this is Christina posting. Emmet has spent the past few weeks meeting more important folks in his life! Our friend, Daniel, who lives in Rochester, has agreed to be Emmet's godfather. Two weeks ago two of our great friends from Toronto, Susana and Claire, came down for a visit and, because we could not choose between them and did not want to make one wait for the next baby, we've asked them both to be Emmet's godmothers. Emmet is fortunate to have such caring, creative people in his life to broaden his horizons.

Next was a trip to D.C. to see my oldest, dearest friends, Anne and Kristin. It was Anne's bridal shower and Kristin is a matron of honor, so we had a great time celebrating together. Emmet seemed quite content among the 20 women and was especially pleased to meet his "aunties". It was a bit surreal for me because I remember holding Kristin's baby brother, Eric, when we were younger (who is in college) and I now have a baby of my own. Crazy! Emmet was amazing on the car ride, by the way, only needing to stop once on the way down and twice on the way up- we were very appreciative parents.

Stefan's mom from South Carolina came a week ago to see the baby. She and Emmet are having a great time getting to know one another.

My sister, Andrea, delivered her first baby on Friday morning (12:02 am). He's 7 lbs 12 ounces and 20 inches long. We look so forward to meeting baby Matthias! (We received this photo today-he's so beautiful).

I have to wait for some photos from the bridal shower and from Daniel's visit and Grandma's visit to share, but we'll post these for now! One of Emmet's new smiles.
The last is of Emmet in the swing he received- (thanks Cindy, James and Ben)- I love this photo-he doesn't quite know what to make of it...

We've had a great couple of weeks with Emmet since the last post. Yesterday he smiled what seemed to be his first "true" smile. It made Christina cry:) We also took our first big road trip with him to visit Christina's aunt and uncle in Pennsylvania. We had a great time and Emmet did well on the road. He does something different nearly every day, from making a cute squeel after he sneezes to grunting a lot when he's being burped when his preference would be to keep eating!

Here are a few additional photos from the past couple of weeks.

The Food has arrived

Thanks to everyone who provided us with food over the past two weeks! Nana. Cindy and James brought over dinners, Moira and Peter had us over for dinner, Leanne gave us jarred tomatoes from her garden and we made yummy sauce, and Sarah and Jenny brought over lunches. It was a huge help- especially as Stefan started teaching and Emmet decided to start eating every hour and a half during the day!

Here are some other images of him from the past two weeks.

Enjoying the bath- which surprised me

Playing a bit with his toys- most movements are random, but sometimes he definitely concentrates on things.

Looking around.

Just another little trip in the car for me today!
