Emmet is busy pulling up these days. We think it won't be long until he starts to walk. No rush Emmet! Mama and Dada are happy with you crawling for now.

Emmet Goes to Cookie Lake

We took a lovely trip to Cookie Lake (aka Keuka Lake) in July thanks to the generosity of Peter and Moira. We brought Emmet's Godmothers along to share in the summer fun that lakeside residing brings. They along with Stefan had a good time wind surfing. Emmet loved the water and didn't even mind being in his play pen on the dock. He got to go swimming in his new boat and even got a trip in the motor boat once we were able to fit him in an infant life jacket--something Emmet did not particularly enjoy. Then Emmet got a good bath in the Kitchen Sink!

We are Back

Well we are finally back from our winter hiatus. The leaves are out on the cherry tree and it looks like spring is here to stay! Emmet has been doing just about everything new for the first time this week. With his Christening behind him (May 3rd) I guess he figures he is ready to go to the next 'step!' Over the past week his first teeth started budding, he can now way bye, bye and he is just starting to crawl. He'll even take steps (as in walking) now if you hold him by the arms. What happened to babyhood ?

This week's achievements

It was a week of some fun firsts. We started feeding Emmet solids this past week. Squash was not a favorite. It just sat in his mouth for a while and then he slowly spit it all out. But tonight we discovered pears, which were a big hit. Emmet also rolled over from belly to back for the first time by himself today. It really is amazing to see how quickly babies change- his dexterity has improved so much. He's starting to wrestle the glass out of my hand when I'm trying to drink water while holding him. He really likes to drink out of a glass. He is also starting to get 'peek-a-boo' and thinks that's pretty funny.

Emmet Giggles!

Well, sorry for the long delay since the last post. It's been a busy couple of months, with Thanksgiving and Christmas at my mom's house (this is Christina writing), where we got to spend lots of time with Andrea and Matthias, as well as a couple of wonderful weddings mixed in there of two of my very best friends, Anne and Madeline. Stefan's mom was also able to join us for Christmas, so Emmet got to spend time with Grandma. I still have to add a photo from Madeline's beautiful wedding, and a few others but for now I will go ahead and post a couple of photos. Emmet is wonderful and we can't believe he's five months old! Baby Matthias- he got so much bigger between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I can't wait to see him again in mid-February.
